Berlin Germany is one of the major hubs for several of the low-cost European airlines.  It is therefore possible to fly to Berlin from many of the other European capital cities for under five euros (plus tax)!

Berlin has an excellent U-bahn (subway) and S-bahn (surface train) so it is easy to visit the major attractions, even if you are staying on the outskirts of the city.
